A South African Ranger and a safari tragic Aussie – born on different continents and brought together by the love of the African bush! Fittingly we met on safari in 2012 at Kambaku Safari Lodge (South African private game lodge) where Van was the Pring family’s guide. We married at Karongwe Private Game Reserve (also South Africa) in April 2016 and after living together in Sydney (Australia) for 4 years and spending most of our savings on safari trips before making the big decision to head back to South Africa for a year. During that time we visited over 40 lodges/camps in 8+ different wildlife reserves across Southern Africa. We made it our mission to research safari options across a wide range of tastes and budgets – from camping in the Central Kalahari to enjoying 5* luxury in Timbavati (and so much in between), we didn’t leave until we felt we were unbeatable experts in Southern Africa safaris!
In total we have spent a ridiculous amount of time in land rovers and 4WDs searching for game in the African bush (admittedly Van has clocked up most of the hours given he spent so many years as a safari guide, which is really just cheating) – between us we have covered a good chunk of game reserves in the African continent, including in South Africa, Botswana, Namibia, Kenya, Tanzania, Uganda and a little bit in Zimbabwe. We started this website because we are CRAZY PASSIONATE about going on safari and feel like we can help others get the most from their experience (as well as convince people to tick it off their bucket list in general!). We want to make sure you get a truly authentic, unforgettable, life-changing wildlife safari. And with Van being a qualified and experienced safari guide and me being a qualified and experienced safari researcher and safari-goer as well as a wildlife photography enthusiast (see our instagram), we think we’re the best people to do just that!
